Just seen the Cindy Sheehan commercial for the first time - pretty powerful. I might have said similar things had it been my son who's 22. But my son refused to join the military because he DOESN'T want to fight in a war. that was his choice prior to 9/11, knowing full well that the possibillity existed. And low and behold it happened. Anyone joinging the military HAS to know this is a possibility, so please do not act surprised when it happens.
BUT... we cannot pull our troops out now. The time for that is long past. I agree that Mister Bush lied to us. As President of the USA he knew full fucking well that there was no conection between Iraq and Al Queda. This was his enemy. But it's done now and we have no choice but to finish what we've started or we'll have lost men and women for nothing. And even though Sadaam had nothing to do with 9/11, he was killing people, maiming people and promoting genocide, so we've done the world a favor. Next stop should be in Africa since we have made ourselves the Moral Judges of the world.
Anyway Cindy, the country greives with you for the loss of your son, as we grieve for all the other mothers who've lost sons and duaghters, wives who've lost husbands, husbands who've lost wives....and the list goes on. You are not the only one. Mister Bush won't talk with you face to face because he'll loose face. You've said your peice, now lets move forward in a positive way.
Don't stop speaking out. We have to question authority or we'll just become part of the sheeple of this country. But this war with Iraq has to go full circle. Even if we don't like why it started, it's too late to stop or we won't have brought another country into the 21st century and taught them about Democracy.
But please...move forward now.
