Random Thoughts

It's a rainy Easter day, and lucky for me, I thought ahead and rented 5 movies for the weekend. Ladder 49 is currently playing for the 2nd time because my mom wants to see it and missed it the first time around. If there is a movie out about firefighting, you can bet we watch it because of the pyro we have living here :D All firemen have to be a bit of a pyro, to appreciate the nature of the enemy they fight. I'm the oposite, the only things that goes through my head when I see flames are: Ooo painful, or Hmmm bar-b-q tonight? I may have a recesive male gene or something that causes me to react the way cave men probably did "I made fire - Cook my food!" *grunt*

Easter and retale or is it retail?

Something I have always found a bit weird in the 15 years I've lived in the south is the way they go hog wild for easter... and not in the christian way. They act like it's Christmas. They buy toys for each child, and I mean BIG toys like swing sets or swimming pools, or trampolines, or bikes. Then they get baskets for each child and fill them full of all the junk they can find (Ok I always did the basket thing too - but not the big huge gifts) and they buy all new spring wardrobes and generally act as though this was a major holiday for gift giving rather than what it really is. I just don't get it.

All the sunflowers I planted last weekend are breaking through the ground today through the rain. Yesterday, I planted some other plants and J and I went to the Southport Arts and Crafts festival and I bought some herbs and a cute pink flamingo made of metal and clay for my mom (her b-day is tomorrow) and I love artistic yard sculptures, I'll take a picture of it so ya'all can see it. Everyone needs at least one pink flamingo for their yard if ya live down south. *eg*

I have a weeks worth of laundry to do and most of it is linen so that means allot of ironing, although I am thinking of changing the style and making wrinkled linen popular. whatchya think?
